CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "The Premier Soccer Training System" - implements our step by step process of physical technique DEMONSTRATIONS, You then IMITATE these demonstrated skills/techniques in training, we then give you the opportunity to EXECUTE these skills in competition with our continued expert guidance and coaching. "The PSTS" is offered at all our Soccer Camps in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP FACILITIES: In a sunny Williamsburg studio embraced by dark-wood floors and a pressed-tin ceiling high enough for even the most expansive thought bubbles. Loads of imagination-stoking materials. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Take on artistic ventures with paint, cloth, clay, and much more! Each week will focus on a material or art historical theme (past summers have included: Surrealism, Printmaking, Folk art, and Drawing Techniques). CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

CAMP FACILITIES: Students will use Hofstra's top-notch facilities, including their Olympic sized pool, while being taught by experts from Nassau BOCES. Time will be split between the classroom and the pool, where students will design and build a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and learn about methods in underwater archaeology.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The course will begin with an introduction to the history of marine exploration. Then, as part of a team, they will design and build an underwater ROV and test their designs in the water. Students will also have the opportunity to work with a marine archaeologist and participate in an antique "helmet dive" in Hofstra's pool.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 61,000 sq.ft. fully air-conditioned recreation facility with a 24,000 sq. ft. main arena and a 12,000 sq.ft. auxiliary gymnasium. The Main Arena has seating for all campers, counselors and parents. We have an on-site indoor Olympic Pool, classrooms, computer lab, arts and crafts section, Drama & Cheer areas, sports courts, Atrium Game area, movie room and private dining room, and camp office.

We have 60 acres of outdoor fields, all weather track, three NCAA fields (soccer, baseball and softball), special field for early childhood campers, and outdoor courts.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At Staten Island Day Camp we offer a three day program and programs from four weeks to eight weeks. We have free door to transportation for all five day programs and free extended hours. We have a full sport and recreation program, all adult counselors and an on-site American Red Cross swim program. We have weekly nationally acclaimed professional entertainment, weekly theme-based activities and events. We have swimming four times a week. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. Our programs include chess programs and camps thru USA Chess, Our Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Programs and our Active Learning Computer Enrichment Programs.

Our staff is, comprised of the best children's chess instructors in North America! The USA Chess camps are uniquely qualified to cater to the needs of the advanced scholastic player as well as the true beginner. USA Chess hit its first milestone in the summer of 2000 producing the largest chess camp ever held in the United States, with more than 250 students enrolled. What was most surprising, however, was the amount of absolute beginners in attendance - more than 50% of the total enrollment was just starting to play chess. This realization led to the national rollout tour of 100 camps in more than 70 cities. The annual tours have been immensely successful with several thousand campers attending this year alone.

USA Chess thrives on providing a structured environment that is extremely conducive to learning chess. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1968, the GO Project has a long history of serving public school children that are struggling academically. The GO Project currently serves 722 students in grades K-8 through our summer (GO Summer) and school year program (GO School). Unique to the GO Project model is the partnership we have developed with independent schools in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. These schools donate space and resources to the GO Project to enable us to operate our programs in a cost efficient manner. Current independent school and host site partners include Grace Church, Grace Church School, LREI, Avenues: The World School, St. Luke’s, and Berkeley Carroll.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.

CAMP FACILITIES: Come spend the summer at resident YMCA Camp Weona and discover what dreams are made of in a place “where only good prevails.” With over a century of camping experience, and built on the Christian heritage of the YMCA, we value honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. YMCA Camp Weona offers both traditional and high adventure activities. Horseback riding through the forest, kayaking under the blue sky, making new friends, singing by the campfire, jumping into the refreshing pool, learning how to set up a campsite, fishing at the lake; each day is full of adventure. YMCA Camp Weona serves children 7 to 17 years old with exciting summer camp options for one, or two or more week stays. All campers live in one of 18 rustic bunk style cabins with shared restrooms facilities. Campers return home with increased self esteem, friendship building skills, and the ability to make good decisions on their own. You’ll find that your child will become better at meeting and getting to know people and will learn to take positive risks at learning new things.

ACA is a non-profit organization that member camps join voluntarily. For nearly two decades, YMCA Camp Weona has been a member of this organization and on a semi-annual basis is visited by ACA, which verifies that we are maintaining over 300 standards of operation in camping. The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provides financial assistance to families within our community who are in need of financial support and may not have the ability to pay the full fee. Financial assistance is determined based on a thorough review of an application and a personal interview with the applicant. Assistance will be granted on the basis of financial need resulting from low income, emergency expenses or other circumstances that inhibit an individual’s ability to pay a prescribed fee. In order to promote inclusion within each cabin, only one bunk mate request per child will be honored. (Bunk mates must be reciprocal – ex. John picks Tim and Tim must pick John.) CAMP FACILITIES: At 200 feet, the Oliver Hazard Perry is the first ocean-going full-rigged ship to be built in the U.S. in over 100 years. It is the largest civilian sail training vessel in America. She has berths for 49 people overnight, and with 17 crew, a low camper to crew ratio creates a safe and fun environment. The ship is equipped with a steel hull, 3 masts, with square sails on all three masts, 20 sails totaling 14,000 square feet, and 7 miles of rope and wire. The engines run on a bio-diesel blend, and the ship is equipped with a modern galley (on-board kitchen), central air, an on-deck science lab, a library and wheel-chair accessibility above and below decks.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: With 17 professional crew and a capacity for 30-34 campers, our program promotes a dynamic and safe learning environment with a 2:1 ratio of campers to instructors. Campers will feel the thrill of steering a 500-ton ship, and learn to work the yards and sails while exploring the beautiful coasts of New England. They will learn safety at sea and perform important safety drills while acquiring skills in navigation, seamanship, sail handling, knots, and the language of the boat. Campers will explore the underwater world through snorkeling. They will understand wind, waves, tides and the ecology of sandy and rocky seashores. Sunsets, sunrises and the night sky will serve as the backdrop for this incredible experience, in addition to marine phosphorescence, dolphins and whales. Teamwork is an integral part of success onboard the boat, and in addition to learning about themselves, and achieving things they never imagined, they will make friendships to last a lifetime.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: In addition to witnessing the natural magic of the ocean and its inhabitants, each student crew will make friendships to last a lifetime. Campers will take responsibility for themselves and their fellow shipmates, learning to work as a team with others as they hoist and brace the yards on the ship's 130-foot tall rig and apply acquired navigational skills to guide the ship's course on a voyage of discovery.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers are grouped by similar age and discover their strengths and unique voices as we support them through the transition to adulthood. Little Notch connects girls of diverse backgrounds with each other, positive mentors, and the land. We provide opportunities to develop responsibility, resourcefulness, wellness, creativity, and teamwork skills. Activities include swimming, canoeing, sailing, team building, ropes course, yoga, creek walks, wildlife observation, hiking, outdoor cooking, arts and crafts, music, overnight camp-outs, and so much more!

All of our activities are opportunities for campers to practice living in harmony with nature, each other, and themselves. Guided by their counselors, campers choose from a wide variety of group-planned activities, which allow for skill development and personal challenge in a safe and fun environment. Unless noted, all campers are eligible to participate in these activities, though not all activities are offered every day. Camp activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing*, hiking, cookouts, land stewardship, campfires, creek-walking, tie-dyeing, drawing, beading, singing, ropes course, journaling, meditation, overnight camp-outs...and more.

We strive to bring together a diverse staff. They are selected for their strong leadership, problem solving skills, love of working with children, ability to model our mission, and a passion for the outdoors. All applicants are thoroughly screened and participate in comprehensive pre-camp training and orientation. The ratio of counselors to campers is one counselor to every six campers ages 7 and 8, and one counselor to every eight campers age 9 and above. All Camp Little Notch staff are certified in first aid. Waterfront and boating staff are certified lifeguards and ropes course staff are certified in belay. OTHER CAMP INFO: Campers start their morning at 7:30 am giving them time to dress and any personal care before going to the dining hall to enjoy breakfast. At all meals, the campers, staff and volunteers work together to set the table, serve the food family style, and end the meal by cleaning and putting away the dishes. After breakfast, "kapers" are next. Kapers are community responsibilities throughout the camp. The campers then enjoy many fun-filled, camper-planned activities. The campers enjoy staying busy throughout the morning with programs such as hiking, boating, swimming, games, and arts & crafts. How we work:
During our after school programs, summer camps, and workshops, we use the creative arts as a space to teach peace education. Our programs aim:
- To provide a fun, safe space for students of all ages, backgrounds and learning styles.

Kids Creative has at its core what we call the 6 C's of peacemaking. Each of these C's is essential to the building of communities in each of our programs. We have divided these into Upper Case and lower case C's.

Community—The overarching “C”. The ultimate key to building peace is being able to coexist with those around you, and to build a functional community where issues are raised and resolved in a constructive manner.

Confidence Building—The basic “C”. You have to be able to accept yourself, and be happy with who you are in order to feel an essential part of building a peaceful community.

Conflict Resolution—The tough “C”. The most difficult aspect of working with others is resolving problems that arise in a manner that is beneficial for all involved. It is possible to easily find temporary solutions, but this is only the first step to conflict resolution. For true peacebuilding, one must also know how to find solutions that are sustainable, meets the needs of the community, and take into account the often numerous factors that contributed to causing and perpetuating the conflict.

Collaboration—The cooperative “C”. No community exists in a bubble, and it is important that members feel invested in working together and finding sustainable solutions. Without collaboration, solutions are only temporary.

Creativity—The innovative “C”. Sometimes, we need to think outside the box and use our imaginations to solve conflicts that arise. We have to be open to the ideas of others to make everyone feel comfortable.

Cookies—The fun “C”. One of our strongest beliefs is that the more enjoyable it is to be a part of a community, the more people are going to want to be involved in sustaining it. People must feel like they are having fun in order to be invested in solving conflicts and building a peaceful, equitable society.

CAMP FACILITIES: French Woods Sports and Arts Center features outstanding modern facilities that include a spacious multilevel dining room, heated pool, gymnasium, gymnastics center, fitness center, technology/communications center, recording studio, large theater, dance studio, rock music center, immaculate sports fields, 4 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor volleyball court, indoor and outdoor basketball court, a baseball diamond, archery range, a private lake, equestrian stables, 14 studios for classes and activities, an open air circus area, an advanced medical center, and two large Dormitory buildings (bunks) housing multiple suites that sleep 8 to 10 campers and counselors with en suite bathrooms, plus 3 additional bunk buildings. All buildings are climate controlled with air-conditioning and heat.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. All that and more rolled up together into one incredible summer experience!

There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.

Majors are chosen at the beginning of each session and are maintained for two weeks. Minors are chosen daily at breakfast. This lets you concentrate on the things that interest you, while giving you the chance to try something new.

Empowering our campers to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments can increase motivation to try harder, try new activities, continues to build self-confidence, and achieve self-efficacy. The more you believe in your abilities, the more inclined you are to be motivated to attempt new things and become successful in those endeavors.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT Program: Campers who are entering the 11th and 12th grades have the option of participating in our two level Counselor In Training program. A 4-week minimum session is required to be eligible for the CIT program. The CIT rate is the reduced rate of $1300 per week. Please contact us for more information on this program.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a lake, three swimming pools, large ball fields, a garden and a farm, a playground and separate courts for tennis, basketball, street hockey and volley ball. Our Outdoor Adventure program has special locations for climbing walls, obstacle/rope courses and zip lines. We have a series of individual workshops and studios for dance, music, theater, ceramics, wood, graphics, sculpture, photography, weaving and art.

These provide the opportunity for every child to discover the special satisfactions of creativity. There is a fully equipped indoor gymnastics center and a fencing shed. Special facilities feature excellent instruction in tennis and archery, fencing, track and field. There are also dormitories with bathrooms, where children store their belongings and change clothes. And, of course, there is a kitchen, dining rooms, and a well-equipped infirmary. If it rains, all our workshops, studios and covered facilities allow for continuing programs.
